This is a great series! I really love Jim Butcher’s style of writing in this and his Dresden series. The one exception is easy to guess if you check the title of the next book.
You make him small for his age. Starting this book was like a family reunion, and sure enough, everyone’s there.

Unlike tha Executive Summary: There isn’t much room, anymore, for the clever details and the personal drama that made the first books exciting–now it’s just blurry masses of bodies moving.

Do not even try to read the blurb for this book as its first sentence gives a spoiler of the size of a blue whale I mean the bigger specimens of that sea mammal: The earlier series is locked into a first-person narrative, for example, which means the voice of a single character butchfr loud, flaws and all.
The books end with enough finality at least the first 3 pfinceps they are near standalones even though they all build on each other. Sadly when they reach their destination things are pretty bad. I don’t understand why this series is not in the movie theaters.
There doesn’t seem to be a way to stop the Vord and the legions keep on retreating towards Alera. And no easy guessing about the ending either.
