Honor’s Splendour by Julie Garwood
Wonderful writing – Julie Garwood has an amazing style. I thought the back and fourth between the characters was entertaining and funny.
Because of what Adela had been through, I found both characters to be very sympathetic, and the humor of their relationship mirrored that of Duncan and Madelyn. Amazon Rapids Fun stories for kids on the go. I loved the hero and heroine and those who were on their side and hated passionately the villain and his party. It s;lendor with Duncan, The Wolf, being tied to a post in the middle of winter left to freeze to death. The romance between the two main characters was wonderful because it was based on gentleness.
Her inability to tell a lie was charming, sometimes funny hulie, in the end, saved the day.
I wanted to give Garwood props for this not only because she wrote a good alpha, but because she did so in the 80s! Unaware of Duncan’s purpose for being there–to kidnap her, she risks all to set him free, to protect him from her brother. Garwood does a wonderful job with character development and dialogue, her descriptive writing makes her stories live. The pace of their relationship was perfect and when they finally got together, oh the feels. This was just perfect. So true, but this is nevertheless fascinating and addictive reading listening.
Tall,dark,and SEXY as hell!!! I have read it over 20 times now and love it still! The discovery fills her with a fire that will not be banked. Her voice grates, as she tries to sound like a man. There were also some parts where I was having a difficult time imagining the setting and felt that more environmental descriptions would have been helpful.
All in all, an enjoyable read that kept me glued to my kindle for a couple days when nothing else was working for me. I found that the love scenes became progressively more sensuous with each one I really enjoyed the late night “swim” in the lakebut still by more modern standards, they were fairly short and only moderately descriptive. I would buy all of Julie garwoods books on audial if they were narrated better.
I also loved the creative sweetness of their first meeting and how Madelyne captured Duncan’s heart through the simple but unselfish act of warming his feet. But the feisty and defiant Christina would not be so easily conquered.

Flosnik does a satisfactory presentation of female voices, however, she consistently destroys male voices. Has anyone else noticed that all of these books have basically the same plot? Want to Read saving…. While I can’t say that Honor’s Splendour is my personal favorite Garwood book, it is a good read that I would certainly recommend.
