I adored Astrid until she I was sure the girl was going to crumple in on herself at the drop of a hat. Her books are set in Manhattan and are about young, beautiful socialites living and loving it up in the Big Apple.
It’s been enjoyable to learn about New York’s seedy nightlife, and the patrons who frequent the speakeasies of the time period.
Bright Young Things Oct 01, Overnight, she enters a world more thrilling and glamorous than she ever could have imagined—and more dangerous. I love the back drop of this novel and the author has amazing talent with description of time and place.
I didn’t really like this nearly as much as I thought I would. I thought this would be an entertaining read. Bright Young Things was a must read for me.

Boy, is that series crazy. Our ladies from Ohio are obviously still figuring it out, while resident Astrid is completely savvy, if a bit on the arrogant and flippant side. Everything always went right, fell seamlessly into place until page when all the thinvs finallu stalled on a busy road, and traffic caught up with them.
Cordelia Grey is flying high with celebrity pilot Max Darby. I might even keep on reading just to see who dies don’t worry, it’s not a spoiler, you’ll find this out in the first few pages.

The author also really glamorizes both smoking and drinking which isn’t the message I want sent to any young adults that I know. The Girl of Fire and Thorns.

Astrid on the other hand is a born and bred socialite and New York City is her playground. But at least Fitzgerald was honest about feeling threatened by all the dizzying change, the vital energy of the new groups that were challenging the world he’d always known.
The Lucky Ones and obviously the title is very tongue-in-cheek is a realistic finale but I found myself wanting more. I want to be a flapper. For most of the book, I was bound and determined to give it 3 stars. Reading Bright Young Things was a seriously enjoyable experience.
